Every piece of memorabilia has a story. . .
The cross-cut oak bar, originally made its way around the horn to San Francisco from back East {before we had the Panama Canal}, just to make the shorter {and most significant if we do say so ourselves} trip across the bay from Mike’s Pool Hall in North Beach to The Fat Lady in 1969. The Fox Theatre of San Francisco, the grandest movie palace west of the Rockies, was sadly torn down in the late 60s…Lou rescued the precious exit sign which now presides over our front door. Original stained glass signs from old breweries, beveled cut, glass front doors and Art Noveau window recall another era. Copper & brass chandeliers illuminate the foiled cork stenciled walls with a warm amber glow. Beautiful artwork abounds, unknown artists together with the famous, see the ladies of Asti, Goya, Manet & Degas as well as the gentlemen of Toulouse and Cezanne...
